현대 가구 디자인의 걸작인 Domus 체어는 헬싱키에 있는

도무스 아카데미 학생 주택 단지를 위한 가구의 일부로 만들어졌다.

오랫동안 앉아 있을 수있는 Domus 체어는 국제적으로 큰 성공을 거두어 "핀 의자"로 알려졌다.

특징적인 짧은 팔은 Domus 체어를 테이블 가까이 끌어당길 수 있다는 것을 의미하며,

편안함을 제공하는 동시에 책상과 식사장에서 공부하기에 안성맞춤이다.

1946년 일마리 타피오바라가 디자인한 Domus 체어는 전 세계의 가정과 공공 공간에 배치되어 왔다.

A masterpiece of modern furniture design,

the Domus Chair was created as part of a series of furniture

for the Domus Academica student housing complex in Helsinki.

Comfortable enough to allow sitting for long periods of time,

the Domus Chair achieved great success internationally, becoming known as “The Finn Chair.”

The characteristic short arms mean that the Domus Chair can be pulled close to a table,

perfect for studying at a desk and dining, while offering the necessary support and comfort.

Designed in 1946 by Ilmari Tapiovaara, Domus Chairs have been placed in homes

and public spaces around the world ever since.

Artek was founded in Helsinki in 1935 by four young idealists: Alvar and Aino Aalto, Maire Gullichsen,

and Nils-Gustav Hahl. Their goal was “to sell furniture and to promote a modern culture of living

by exhibitions and other educational means.”

Ilmari Tapiovaara

일마리 타피오바라(1914-1999)는 당대 최고의 인테리어 건축가 및 디자이너 중 한 명이었다.

탐험가의 마음과 장인의 영혼을 가진 타피오바라는 늘 일상적인 사물을 개선할 새로운 해결책을 찾고 있었다.

타피오바라는 오랜 경력 동안 대중에게 사랑 받는 수십 개의 상징적인 물건들을 만들었다.

그는 종종 핀란드 정체성의 본질을 포착했다고 한다.

타피오바라는 1937년 헬싱키에 있는 중앙 응용예술학교의 가구디자인학과를 졸업했다.

학업을 마친 뒤 파리 르 코르뷔지에의 사무실에서 조수로 일하다가

당시 핀란드 최대의 가구 제조업체 중 하나인 아스코 오이의 예술감독과 디자이너가 되었다.

1946년부터 1947년까지, 타피오바라는 헬싱키에 있는 새로운 학생 주택 시설인

도무스 아카데미를 위해 그의 아내 안니키와 함께 가구를 설계했다.

유명한 도머스 의자가 탄생한 것은 이 프로젝트의 과정이었다.
